Cameron Blewett

Cameron Blewett made the decision to go vegan in the mid 80′s after reading the book Fit For Life by Harvey and Marilyn Diamond. This book profoundly changed Cameron’s thinking, that from this moment onwards he looked at the food he ate objectively, was more aware of the possible health problems of the mainstream diet in later life, and also realised that the modern human being does not need to consume animal products in order to survive and thrive.

Cameron settled in Queensland in the late 90′s after spending a few years in Melbourne and Sydney.  He made the decision to actively seek out other vegans and joined the local vegetarian and vegan society, which at the time was the only one around.  For a few years this group was enough for him and he enjoyed their many social events with mostly like-minded individuals.

When Cameron was playing with iTunes one day, searching for some vegan podcasts to listen to, he stumbled upon the early days of Vegan Freak Radio by Bob and Jenna Torres.  When listening to these passionate and educational podcasts, the motivated activist inside him was unleashed and he started a few short-lived blogs as his contribution to the vegan movement.

After an inspiring trip overseas, Cameron grew increasingly frustrated with the lack of an abolitionist presence in Queensland and seriously contemplated relocating to the United States. Discussing his frustrations with a good friend, he was presented with two options: either move overseas to join an already established movement, or stay here to become part of the groundswell towards veganism that is occurring.

Fully believing that you have two choices: to either be part of the problem or part of the solution, Cameron realised that if he ran away overseas, then he would be part of the problem that all abolitionists in Queensland would eventually face – the fact that there is no real abolitionist presence in Queensland.  From this moment he decided to create an abolitionist group that would eventually become Vegan Existence inc (V.EX)

Vegan Existence inc (V.EX) was built over long nights philosophising with like-minded, passionate vegan abolitionist friends, many hours of research and constant criticism from other established organisations.  Vegan Existence inc (V.EX) and Cameron Blewett stand to promote veganism and abolitionism.

There is no other way towards a better future for all of the inhabitants on this earth.
